A £150M road project on the A465 has been approved by Welsh transport minister Carl Sargeant.
The scheme comprises the A465 Heads of the Valleys Dualling Section 3 Brynmawr to Tredegar ECI Contract.
It involves the development of the A465 Trunk Road between its junction with the A467 (Brynmawr Roundabout Junction) and its junction with the A4048 (Nant-y-Bwch Roundabout Junction).
Works will also include a new section of the road measuring 4.7km passing through the north of Ebbw Vale; a new bridge to carry the carriageway over the Sirhowy River and a retaining wall next to Dukestown cemetery.
