Balfour Beatty and Places for People tipped to build 1,500 new Stratford homes

A joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Places for People is understood to be favourite to build a major housing development at the Queen Elizabeth Park.

The East Wick and Sweetwater scheme will deliver up to 1,500 homes in Stratford, which will include private rented sector and affordable homes.

Kier has announced that it has raised £120m through the US private placement market.
 
The private placement - securities not sold through public offering - comprises both sterling and dollar notes, with maturities of between seven and 10 years, and a blended interest rate of approximately 4.5 per cent.
