Following a public inquiry, the go ahead has been given for the £70 million Barton Renewable Energy Plant for Peel Holdings. Works are expected to commence during 2014 on the scheme which will be located at Davyhulme in Manchester. The scheme will generate renewable electricity to power up to 37,000 homes for at least 25 years.
