Some £3 billion worth of construction work was delayed or halted by planning appeals during the first nine months of 2012. Glenigan has identified 494 planning applications that have gone to appeal in the first nine months of 2012.
The vast majority of applications going to appeal are residential projects, accounting for 354 projects or 72% of the total. In value terms 62% or £1.8 billion of the applications going to appeal are residential schemes.
