Approval of reserved matters application has been submitted to Leeds City Council by West Yorkshire Police for a £33 million police headquarters to be constructed on the former Greyhound Stadium, Elland Road in Leeds. The building will include a public help desk and press room; central office and response unit and custody facility with 40 cells (with potential expansion for further cells).

The contract has been awarded to Interserve Building Ltd through a £100m PFI contract. Works are due to commence during the Summer of 2012.
